Man accused of sodomizing 14-year-old boy during tutoring session sent to jail

By BBN Staff: Belize City resident, Jeffery Daniel Gillett, 31, accused of sodomizing a 14-year-old boy during a tutoring session, was denied bail today in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

Gillett, who is being represented by attorney Richard “Dickie” Bradley, appeared before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts- Anderson, charged with two counts of “rape of a child”.

In court, no plea was taken from Gillett due to the nature of the offense, and bail was denied. Gillett was therefore remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October 21, 2021.

Allegations are that twice on Saturday, August 21, 2021, Gillett sexually assaulted the minor whilst visiting his home for tutoring.
