Public Service Union announces education grants for members

By Aaron Humes: First of their kind education grants for members of the Public Service Union (PSU) who are in school or have children in school, will be dispersed starting this morning in Belize City.

Ten education grant scholarships will be distributed per branch of the Union to successful student applicants from across the country who are enrolled in secondary schools from first to fourth form. The total value of the education grants is $11,400 each.

Additionally, the PSU will be presenting ten tertiary school education grants valued at $6,000 to successful PSU member applicants who are enrolled
in tertiary level institutions from across the country.

The PSU Education Grant Programme 2021, in accordance with Article 31 (3) of the PSU
Constitution, will be distributed annually in July/August of each year to financial members, and children of financial members who are successful in the open and transparent education
grant application process of the Union.

The first presentation is this morning at ten at the branch office at Kut Avenue, followed by Corozal at the branch office on Friday morning, Orange Walk the same day at Maracas Restaurant; and Belmopan at Union headquarters on Friday afternoon. Stann Creek and Toledo will be presented at the Stann Creek Agriculture Office, Mile 9, Southern Highway, at 10 a.m. on August 31.
