Belize enters weekend with active COVID-19 cases past 1 thousand, hospitalizations jump

By Aaron Humes: Today’s tally of cases, 119, takes Belize above the 1,000 mark for active cases of COVID-19 – 1,028 to be exact.

82 persons have recovered but 640 samples are under investigation.

22 persons are actively hospitalized countrywide, a jump from 13 yesterday, and five are in intensive care.

However, no new deaths have been reported.

Belize also passes 16 thousand confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic (16,012) and 14,607 have recovered while 356 have died.
