Two women robbed in Macal River Park, San Ignacio

By Aaron Humes: Two women on their way home Thursday night were robbed and assaulted in San Ignacio Town.

Natalia Kib, 41, and Olda Carbajal, 53, were walking through Macal River Park on Joseph Andrews Drive when they saw two men in all black at a picnic table.

The men approached and grabbed Kib’s purse while threatening her with a knife at her stomach.

Kib let go but as the first robber approached Carbajal she hit him in the face with her purse and began screaming. 

Fearing attention, the robbers fled with Kib’s purse containing a $400 Samsung Galaxy A10 phone; the purse itself is worth $35.

Police investigations continue.
