Belize Bank to replace old Scotiabank cards

By Benjamin Flowers: Following its acquisition of Scotiabank’s assets in April, the Belize Bank Corporation Limited is preparing to remove the last remnant of Scotiabank in the country by updating credit and debit cards.

The Belize Bank issued a notice today saying “Please be advised that effective September 1, 2021, when your credit or debit card is renewed or reissued, it will be rebranded with the Belize Bank Corporation Limited logo.”

The Bank explained that all the features of the cards will remain the same and customers can continue using any merchant ATMs bearing the Visa or MasterCard logo.

Those whose credit or debit cards have not yet expired can continue using those cards.

Anyone with questions regarding their cards is urged to call 227-2200 for more information.

Belize Bank Corporation Limited officially took over Scotiabank’s operations on April 1, 2021; bringing an end to Belize’s association with Canadian banks.
