By Aaron Humes: While COVID-19 continues its ravages countrywide, the Old Capital continues to be its biggest target.
Over three days there were 64 new cases of COVID-19 in Belize City, an average of 21 per day.
San Pedro Town reported 23 new cases, Orange Walk Town 12 and Sarteneja, Corozal District, ten.
Elsewhere in the Belize District, there were six new cases in Double Head Cabbage, five in Caye Caulker, four in Western Paradise, three in Hattieville, two each in Bermudian Landing and Sandhill, and one each in Biscayne, Burrell Boom, Flowers Bank, Lords Bank and Rancho Dolores.
Two cases each were reported in San Jose, Orange Walk and Santa Martha and one each in Chan Pine Ridge, San Felipe, San Jose Palmar, Trinidad and Yo Creek.
The Corozal District saw cases in San Joaquin (three) and Corozal Town, San Victor and Santa Clara (one each).
In Cayo, Belmopan and San Ignacio saw six cases each and Salvapan and San Martin a total of three.
Other cass were reported in Valley of Peace (four), Santa Elena and St Matthew’s (three), Cotton Tree and St Margaret’s (two) and Armenia, Camalote, Georgeville, Roaring Creek, Spanish Lookout and Teakettle (one each).
There were five new cases in Independence, two each in Dangriga and Sarawee and one each in Hope Creek and Placencia, and in the Toledo District, five in Punta Gorda and one each in Barranco, Midway, San Miguel and Yemeri Grove.
