Gap closes in COVID-19 battle despite surge in cases

By Aaron Humes: The weekend saw 208 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 countrywide, an average of 69 per day, with 167 new recoveries reported.

This means the active cases go up only slightly to 1,066, with a further 464 under investigation.

However, three more deaths have been reported – one female and two males. The total death count is now up to 359.

The number of active hospitalizations is up to 24 with five in intensive care.

16,220 people have caught the virus with 14,774 recovered.
