Persons 12-17 get vaccinated in Caye Caulker on Monday, Tuesday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness said they will be conducting vaccinations for persons 12-17 with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Caye Caulker on Monday and Tuesday, August 30 and 31.

Vaccination is being conducted at the Caye Community Center from 8am to 3pm on both days.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness said it encourages all parents and legal guardians to have their children vaccinated.

The Pfizer vaccine has now been given full approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The Ministry says the Pfizer vaccine is given in two doses, 21 days apart.

A signed consent from parents or guardians is required for the children to be administered the vaccine.

The children are required to present a valid ID, preferably a Social Security Board card.

The Ministry also said also said that the children should have breakfast or lunch and they should also be well hydrated before getting the vaccine.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health also said the vaccine is for all children 12-17, so those who are not in school can show up at the vaccination centers to get their vaccines.
