More than 1,000 active COVID-19 cases in Belize, 28 hospitalizations

By Benjamin Flowers: Belize has more than 1,100 active COVID-19 infections, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

The MOHW’s latest data puts active cases at 1,108, with another 339 suspected cases under investigation.

Total active cases are split between 604 females and 504 males.

The data also showed that there are 28 patients currently hospitalized in standard COVID-19 units in hospitals across the country, and six patients receiving critical care in an intensive care unit (ICU).

Meanwhile, 88 patients have newly recovered from COVID-19 infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 14,862.
