Posted: Tuesday, August 31, 2021. 5:06 pm CST.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) needs to add people to its cadre of match commissioners and is willing to train them.

To that end the FFB has put out an announcement on Facebook promising to train whoever is interested.

“The role of a Match Commissioner is of paramount importance to the organization of a football match,” said the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association. “The Match Commissioner implements the rules and regulations to ensure that a match is properly organized and proceed in an efficient manner, upholding the standards of the game.”

The FFB said it will be conducting recruitment in Belize City on September 1 and in Cayo on September 18.

The FFB training will look at the Roles & Responsibilities of the Match Commissioner and will include the following topics:

1. How to conduct a successful (MCM) Match Coordination Meeting, also known as the Technical Meeting

2. Match Reporting

3. Official Countdown on Match days

4. Amendments to the Laws of the Game – the International Football Association Board (IFAB) has approved a number of amendments

5. Stadium and Security Matters

6. Covid-19 Protocols and Protocols for Racist Incidents

7. Integrity of the Game

Those persons interested in becoming match commissioners should contact the FFB’s Competitions Director, Rafael Avila at [email protected]
