By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The National Rugby Team will be holding its first Captain’s Run on Sunday, September 5, in Belize City, said coach Tony Gillings.
“The run will start from Fort George Memorial Park at 10 am and travel along North Front Street, it will cross the Swing Bridge and follow Albert Street turning left around St John’s Cathedral, then follow Regent Street to battlefield Park, where there may be a brief stop for water,” Gillings said.
“From there the run will travel back across the Swing bridge, follow North Front Street around the Bliss Lighthouse, and finish at the Fort George Memorial Park.”
Gillings added that there will be ample opportunities for photos should anyone wish to take any with the members of the team who will be escorted by members of the Belize City Traffic Department.
The Belize National Rugby 7s Team will be competing in the World Rugby tournament organized by Rugby Americas North. The tournament will be hosted by the Turks & Caicos Rugby Football Union on October 16 – 17, 2021.
