Active cases of COVID-19 continue to climb

By Benjamin Flowers: There are now 1,132 active COVID-19 infections in Belize, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Total active cases are split between 613 females and 519 males.

The Ministry’s latest daily report shows that there are also 273 suspected cases under investigation.

The data also showed that there are 21 patients currently hospitalized in standard COVID-19 units in hospitals across the country, and six patients receiving critical care in an intensive care unit (ICU).

Meanwhile, 116 patients have newly recovered from COVID-19 infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 14,978.

There were no new deaths associated with the virus reported today.
