Ministry of Health says all travelers coming in through land borders have to take a PCR/Rapid test at their own expense when entering

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) says the Ministry of Health says all travelers coming in through land borders will have to take PCR/Rapid test at their own expense when entering.

No foreign COVID-19 tests will be accepted at land borders said the MOHW.

“The ministry reiterates that the Cabinet of Belize has made a decision that ALL travelers entering Belize through the northern and western borders will be administered a COVID-19 test by the Ministry of Health & Wellness, at their own expense,” said the MOHW.

“NO external COVID-19 PCR or rapid tests will be accepted at these points of entry.”

The MOHW said that while the decision may be an inconvenience, the requirement is necessary to protect the residents of Belize.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness said it has “the official authority to protect and safeguard the health and wellbeing of all Belizeans including resident and non-resident.”
