Posted: Thursday, September 2, 2021. 11:22 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Breaking Belize News has confirmed that several employees of the state-owned Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) have tested positive for COVID-19.

An internal document shows that a total of nine employees have tested positive and that the company is now conducting contact tracing activities as per the protocol established by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Employees were also told to inform their respective managers and human resource personnel if they had either been in contact with someone who tested positive, feel unwell or are exhibiting symptoms of COVId-19, or believe a coworker might be infected.

Thus far the company has not made a public statement on the matter.

This is a developing story.
