American family in Placencia taken hostage and robbed in their home

By BBN Staff: Two men broke into the home of an American family in Placencia and took the family hostage before robbing them.

Michael Lastshaw , 60, reported that on Thursday, September 2, he was with his wife Pamela Lastshaw, 59-year-old, and his daughter Amanda Latshaw 24, when they headed to the lower flat of their two-story home.

When they arrived downstairs, they met two men, one armed with a machete, the other with a handgun.

The men took the family upstairs and relieved them of cell phones, laptops, and other electronics, which had a total value of $4,700.

Police are investigating.
