By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan Dr. Candice Pitts takes every opportunity to promote Belize quite seriously (but with a big smile) and today was no different as she took advantage of a culture fair to promote Belizean products.
The Embassy of Belize in ROC – Taiwan said in a social media post that Ambassador Pitts on Friday participated in the culture fair for Taiwan’s diplomatic allies at Carrefour supermarket, Taiwan’s second-largest supermarket chain.
“The cultural fair was a collaborative effort between TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council), which is Taiwan’s foremost trade promoting organization, and Carrefour, which is French-owned and is the second-largest supermarket in Taiwan,” said the Belize Embassy.
Ambassador Pitts took the opportunity to promote Belize’s Marie Sharp sauces and Belize marine products!
“The purpose of the fair was to expose the customers of Carrefour to the products exported by Taiwan’s diplomatic allies”
The Embassy said although a number of Taiwanese businesses are already importing Marie Sharp sauces and Belize marine products, their objective is to start the conversation with the Central America Taiwan Organization (CATO) and Carrefour for the Carrefour chain to carry Belizean products in their stores.
