Minister of Health clarifies tendering process for pharmaceuticals imports

By Aaron Humes: Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat has come out swinging about the misrepresentation of the tendering process for pharmaceuticals which he says the Opposition has spread misinformation on.

According to the Minister, honest importers and producers who had given up under pressure from alleged favoring of friends benefited from publication of the tenders which resulted in more vendors winning contracts (34) but saving over 4 million dollars compared to over budgeting of 1.5 million in the last year of the previous administration.

And Chebat warned that there will be an investigation of five containers of expired medicines collected under the previous administration.
