Two held for shooting murder of Joshua Dyer in Belmopan

By Aaron Humes: Police say they have detained two persons to be questioned in the death of Joshua Dyer, 24, of Belize Street in Belmopan on Friday night.

Authorities were told that after seven-thirty on Friday night, a fair complexion man wearing a black hoodie visited the residence and knocked on the front door. The mother of the deceased opened the door and the culprit asked for Joshua saying someone from the fence sent him to see Joshua.

However, when the mother asked his name the culprit stormed into the house, stomped open Joshua’s door as it was locked and fired 3 shots at him. The shooter then ran back outside and up the street towards the dead end and escaped.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled as police investigation continues.
