Breaking: Police issue warning to motorists in southern Belize about picking up hitch hikers

By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department has issued a notice to motorists in southern Belize to refrain from picking up hitchhikers as there are wanted men still on the move.

The Officer Commanding the Stann Creek Police Formation issued the caution to all motorists commuting on the Hummingbird Highway in the area around six miles junctions and the surroundings to be cautious whilst traveling and not to pick up any hitchhiker.

“Earlier today there was a robbery in Redbank Village and the six culprits fled the scene in a vehicle. However, they overturn by the six miles junction and fled the area,” the department said.

Those wanted for the robbery had gotten into a shootout with police before fleeing the scene.

The search for these men continues.
