Breaking: Tires being burned in Santa Familia Village

By BBN Staff: There are reports of tires being burned in front of the police station in Santa Familia, Cayo district.

The villagers have been in a state of outrage since last night’s shooting death of 29-year-old Belize Defense Force soldier Jesse Escobar.

Villagers are gathered in masse to express their outrage, with signs and placards and burning candles honoring Escobar and demanding justice for him.

Motorists in the area are urged to exercise caution at this time as the road is completely impassable at the moment.
