Student vaccinations in Toledo district continue

Posted: Monday, September 6, 2021. 10:10 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW), in its ongoing effort to make classrooms safer from COVID-19, continues this week with its offering of vaccine shots to students between the ages of 12-17 years.

Vaccinations for students will be held at the Punta Gorda Hospital from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Tuesday, September 7 to Saturday, September 11.

The Government of Belize began vaccinating students countrywide with the Pfizer vaccine on Monday, August 23.

Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology Francis Fonseca, at that time stressed that getting the students vaccinated would play a key role in not only protecting them from the virus, but getting them back into the classroom to get much-needed face to face learning and make up for class time lost during the pandemic.
