University of Belize to hold public lecture to celebrate 40th anniversary of Independence

By Benjamin Flowers: The University of Belize (UB) is inviting all Belizeans to be a part of its public lecture “Belize at 40” being held on September 8, to commemorate Belize’s 40th anniversary of independence.

The lecture on the State of the Nation after 40 years, is an event being hosted in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MoECST); National Institute of Culture and History (NICH); and the National Celebrations Commission (NCC).

The presenters will feature Dr. Philip Castillo, Dr. Lisa Johnson, Dr. Nuelin Villanueva, Dr. Thippi Thiagarajan, Social Scientist Greg Nunez, and Director of the UB’s Central Farm Campus Zoe Zetina, speaking on the current political, economic, and social conditions of Belize.
