Active COVID-19 cases nearing 1,300

By BBN Staff: The number of active COVID-19 infections in Belize is steadily approaching 1,300, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The MOHW’s data for active COVID-19 infections shows a total of 638 infected males and 644 females, for a total of 1,282 active infections countrywide.

Health authorities also have an additional 275 suspected cases under investigation.

Hospitalizations have also spiked again, with 31 patients receiving care in standard COVID-19 units across the country, and seven patients receiving critical care in an intensive care unit (ICU).
There were 111 new recoveries from COVID-19 bringing the national total for recoveries up to 15,446.

The national recovery rate has also been adjusted to 90.2.
