Robbery on the rise in South, businessman targeted in Dangriga

By Aaron Humes: A store in the center of Dangriga Town’s business district was hit by robbers on Monday night.

At about 7:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Corner of Moho Street and St. Vincent Street where Amit Madhu Advani, a 36-year-old businessman, reported that he was standing on the sidewalk in front of his store, speaking to someone, when he saw two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm approach one of his workers from behind.

The culprits thereafter escorted them inside the store, where they proceeded to rob the business of a small amount of cash in different denominations.

Police have since detained one person pending investigation.
