Albert Rep Tracy Panton: ‘I am offended the PM will wait until absolute crisis’

By Aaron Humes: Area representative for Albert, Tracey Taegar Panton’s hopes for a formal press briefing to discuss new measures that will be put in place to address the COVID crisis, were dashed.

The Prime Minister is only giving an address to the nation amid reports of tightened restrictions on movement.

Panton said on social media this morning, “I am offended that the PM will wait until we have such a massive spread and are in an absolute crisis to address the nation. We should be making a RUKUS Belize.”

She went on to call for the return of Dr. Marvin L. Manzanero as Director of Health Services after his removal a few months ago.

Notably, the Prime Minister has yet to hold a press conference on his own, attending conferences held by other Ministers and giving press scrum interviews at major events and at House of Representatives meetings. He is, of course, not obliged to do so.
