By Aaron Humes: The U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) and others have released images of the field hospital being assembled in the capital Belmopan and scheduled for donation on Friday.
On social media along with images of the tents set up outside the University of Belize Gymnasium there was this caption: “Helping our friends and partners in #Belize: A look at a field hospital in Belize being prepared to support the nation’s fight against #COVID19. The U.S. will officially hand over the hospital Friday.#SOUTHCOM’s Humanitarian Assistance Program funded the donation.”
The U.S. has been a critical aide in Belize’s efforts against COVID-19, providing medical supplies, vaccines, and recently a storage freezer for the latter.
As noted the handover takes place on Friday and we will have full coverage.
