Belize has over 1,500 active cases of COVID-19

By Benjamin Flowers: The latest COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) show that more than 1,500 Belizeans are currently infected with the virus.

According to the data, there are a total of 1,514 active cases which are split between 825 females and 689 males.

Health authorities also have an additional 287 cases under investigation.

Meanwhile, there are now 32 patients hospitalized due to the virus, six of whom are receiving critical care in an intensive care unit.

The MOHW also reported that 147 new patients have recovered from the infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 16,409.

The national recovery rate now stands at 89.5.
