John Saldivar publicly supports Patrick Faber: ‘He is the best man for the job’

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, former Belmopan Standard Bearer for the United Democratic Party (UDP) John Saldivar publicly endorsed Patrick Faber’s leadership of the party.

Saldivar who lead the caucus for change that attempted to recall Faber in July, took a reversal of that position at a press conference held at the UDP Headquarters in Belize City on Friday.

“I have examined the field and determined that Patrick Faber is the best person to lead the UDP at this time,” Saldivar said. “Party Leader my hands are on deck, the hands of my colleagues are on deck. We are reporting for duty sir.”

He noted that his truce with Faber comes following several meetings where the major point of unification was that Faber will lead with inclusion and ensure that all party member’s concerns are ventilated and addressed.

Saldivar also said that his decision to support Faber’s leadership did not come with the promise of any senior position in the party.
