Police charge Zenaida Moya for this morning’s gathering

By Aaron Humes: Police have arrested and charged one Zenaida Victoria Moya with hosting a gathering of more than 10 persons who are not from the same household.

The ex-Mayor of Belize City is said to have contravened this regulation of Statutory Instruments 74 and 81, section 7, with this morning’s lineup at Battlefield Park. She was picked up this afternoon on Cinderella Plaza, intersecting with Freetown Road.

Organizers said the event was part of a worldwide day of protest against the restrictions caused by the virus and the push to vaccinate the entire population. They did not say whether they had tried to obtain permits.

Moya is being represented by attorneys Norman Rodriguez and Richard “Dickie” Bradley.
