371 new cases of COVID-19 reported entering “firebreak period”

By Aaron Humes: 371 new cases of COVID-19 were reported countrywide over the weekend, continuing a lengthy rise in the number of cases in this latest stage.

Just 233 new recoveries were reported, leaving the number of active cases at 1,733.

518 new cases were put under investigation.

The number of active hospitalizations is down to 25, an encouraging sign, but seven persons remain in intensive care.

Belize is now closing in on 19 thousand cases, with 18,903 reported since the beginning of the pandemic, nearly eight percent of the population. 16,751 or 88.6 percent of the population has recovered.
