By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness said vaccination for children 12-17 continues this week at schools in capital Belmopan.
Vaccination with the Pfizer vaccines for all persons between the ages of 12 to 17 is according to the following schedule:
Monday, September 20
Baptist High School (BHS and BCA): 8:30am – 2pm
Wednesday, September 22
Ontario Christian Academy schools (CCA and Ontario Christian School): 8am – 2pm
Thursday, September 23
GCPS: 8am – 2pm
Saint Michael’s RC School, 8am – 2pm
St Ann’s Anglican School: 8am – 2pm
Friday, September 24
Our Lady of Guadalupe Primary School: 8am – 2pm
United Evergreen Primary School: 8am – 2pm
El Shaddai Seventh Day Adventist School: 8am – 2pm
The Ministry of Health and Wellness said it encourages all parents and legal guardians to have their children vaccinated.
The Ministry says the Pfizer vaccine is given in two doses, 21 days apart.
A signed consent from parents or guardians is required for the children to be administered the vaccine.
The children are required to present a valid ID, preferably a Social Security Board card.
The Ministry also said also said that the children should have breakfast or lunch and they should also be well hydrated before getting the vaccine.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health also said the vaccine is for all children 12-17, so those who are not in school are also welcome to take the vaccine.
