Belize Weather: A fair Independence Day in the land for most

By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service says Independence Day will see generally fair weather continue countrywide.

Skies will be sunny with cloudy spells today and cloudy at times tonight. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected except for a few more over the South and coast this morning and tonight and over inland areas this afternoon.

High temperatures are 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 96 degrees inland, and 82 degrees in the hills. Low temperatures tonight are 78 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland, and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots and the sea state is slight.

High tide occurs at 10:11 this morning and at 10:25 this evening and low tide at 4:36 this afternoon. Sunset is at 5:49 this evening and sunrise Wednesday morning is at 5:41.

A few showers and isolated thunderstorms over most areas are expected on Wednesday.
