Close to 1,800 Belizeans have COVID-19 right now; More than 740 cases still under investigation

By Benjamin Flowers: Almost 1,800 Belizeans are currently infected with COVID-19, but that number might soon be even higher, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Wellness ( MOHW).

The data shows that there are 1,798 active COVID-19 infections and another 741 suspected cases that are under investigation.

There are 30 patients hospitalized due to the virus with half of them receiving critical care in an intensive care unit.

The MOHW also reported that 144 new patients have recovered from infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 17,209.

The national recovery rate was adjusted to 88.6.
