By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The plight of Haitian migrants at the US-Mexico border has been in the news over the last few days, but those are not the only Haitians looking for a better place to live. News out of the Bahamas says that Haitians leaving their country have been showing up at Inagua in the Bahamas.

The Antigua Observer reported on Friday that the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) said they have detained 370 Haitian migrants over the last two days and are now in their custody.

The Observer reported that 151 migrants were detained on Thursday night in a joint effort by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Operation Turks and Caicos Bahamas (OPBAT) operatives.

The RBDF were reportedly taking 70 migrants to Inagua when they spotted a Haitian sloop at sea near Inagua with the 151 migrants which included 123 men and 28 women.
