By Rubén Morales Iglesias: 115,175 persons have been fully vaccinated in Belize according to the Friday COVID-19 Vaccination Report released by the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).
The MOHW said 189,043 persons have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines.
During the month of September, 22,350 persons between 12 – 17 years of age have been vaccinated with Pfizer vaccines. A total of 5,875 persons 18 years and older have also been vaccinated this month so far.
The MOHW started out with AstraZeneca vaccines but has added Sinopharm, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines.
Persons wishing to vaccinate may visit vaccinating sites countrywide and may also register online for an appointment.
“Vaccinations are now available for everyone; 18 years and older,” said the MOHW.
“Persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any Ministry of Health and Wellness health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine. We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often. Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business.”
