Two held in shooting incident

By Aaron Humes: One man was shot in Belize City on Friday night and is hospitalized while two persons have been detained according to police. However, he was determined to be under the influence of unknown substances and is listed in a stable condition.

Officers visited Karl Heusner Memorial hospital on Friday night to speak to the victim, San Pedro Town resident Paul White, 38, who was hit in the left forearm.

Police say that so far they have been unable to determine where White was shot; in fact, a canvass of usual crime hotspots found that no one had heard any gunshots on Friday night. Nonetheless, two persons have been detained for questioning and police investigations continue.
