More than one-third of new COVID-19 cases came from the Belize District

By Benjamin Flowers: The Belize District continues to lead the country this week by the number of newly-reported COVID-19 infections.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 345 new cases between the period September 25-27, and 118 of them, just over 1/3 of the amount came from the Belize District.

Belize City has consistently been the municipality reporting the newest cases per day, with 87 of the 118 new cases from the district coming from that location.

Cayo was next, with 72 new cases, 19 of which were from San Ignacio.

Toledo followed with 55 new cases; 24 of which were from Punta Gorda Town, then Orange Walk with 49 new cases, 23 of which were from Orange Walk Town.

Stann Creek, Corozal, and San Pedro Town were the locations with the lowest number of newly reported cases, with 27,15, and 9 new cases respectively.
