Belize reaches unfortunate new milestone with more than 2,000 active cases of COVID-19

By BBN Staff: There are now more than 2,000 people in Belize who are currently infected with COVID-19.

The ministry’s latest data shows that active infections are now at 2,102 with another 789 suspected cases under investigation.

Hospitalizations due to the virus are steadily approaching 50, with 47 currently hospitalized, 10 of whom are receiving critical care in an intensive care unit.

The MOHW also reported that 190 new patients have recovered from their infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 17,785.

The national recovery rate was adjusted to 87.5.
