By BBN Staff: Ryan Ian Wright, 46, was spared prison time for a drug offense in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this week when he pleaded guilty to a lesser offense.
Police had busted Wright on Saturday, September 25, with 69 grams of marijuana, and charged him with drug trafficking.
In court, Wright pleaded guilty to possession simplitica (simple possession) which the prosecution did not object to.
He was fined $500 plus $5 cost of court, which he needs to pay by December 31 or he will have to spend six months in jail.
