Ministry of Health updates ‘First dose’ data for COVID-19 deaths ages 40-49

By BBN Staff: Today, the Ministry of Health and Wellness announced an adjustment to its cumulative data for patients who have died from COVID-19.

The change, made to the infographic issued today, related to the reported deaths for the 40-49 age group, for the period August 1- September 28.

“A death that was initially classified as ‘Unvaccinated’ was changed to ‘First Dose Only.’ This is due to the entering of backlogged vaccination data which is an ongoing process. The new totals in the 40-49 age group are nine (9) Unvaccinated and two (2) First Dose Only for a total of eleven (11),” the Ministry said.

Over the reference period, there have been 71 deaths related to the virus, 30 of which were in the 60+ age group.

The 50-59 age group was the second-most affected, recording 18 deaths.
