By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Pedro Belize Express (SPBE) said today that it will start requiring a vaccination card or negative Covid-19 test along with a valid form of ID to enter their terminals as of Friday, October 1.

“The challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic have compelled innovative and operational changes in SPBE WATER TAXI,” said SPBE. “The health and safety of our customers and staff is top priority. SPBE remains committed to providing a safe environment for its customers with its 100% vaccinated staff.”

SPBE said the new requirements are in compliance with the Government of Belize’s new regulations and protocols.

The valid forms of identification SPBE will require include Social Security Card, Driver’s License, or Passport.

They will also continue doing temperature checks and requiring the mandatory face masks which must be worn properly covering both nose & mouth.

Hand sanitization is also required upon entering the terminal and boarding the vessels.

SPBE is also insisting on social distancing.

“SPBE Water Taxi takes this opportunity to thank our customers for their continued support and encourage everyone to practice social distancing and wear masks,” concluded SPBE.

Incidentally, SPBE said it’s not operating any runs on Sunday, October 1, as per Government Regulations.
