Crooked Tree man reported missing, may have come to harm

By Aaron Humes: Crooked Tree resident Jeffrey Crawford is missing according to a police report.

An eyewitness told police that this morning around 7 a.m., he saw two men go to Crawford’s residence down a feeder road across from the Crooked Tree junction.

Ten minutes later, one of them, who had a bump on his face, approached him asking for a “jump,” i.e., to start his vehicle.

The eyewitness said he lent them a car battery to start the vehicle and when it started, the driver and his companion along with Crawford reversed and exited the yard. The witness claimed to see Crawford inside the vehicle, a red Nissan Pathfinder, license plates C-42237 with gold rims, in the back passenger seat with apparent head wounds.

Police have processed the area and searched for the vehicle and Crawford without success. Their investigations continue.
