Prime Minister promoting Belize Investment Summit coming up in November

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Prime Minister Briceño has been promoting the Belize Investment Summit both with the Mexican Employers Association and on social media.

The Belize Investment Summit 2021 which is a first-of-its-kind event for Belize seeks to attract and promote investment for economic development in Belize.

“Belize, the best bet for business … offering the best of two regions and worlds,” said the Prime Minister on Facebook on Wednesday.

“A literal and figurative bridge between Central America and the Caribbean. A bilingual oasis with the beauty of stable government … from the roars of our rainforests to the rumble of our reef.”

Earlier today, Briceño said businessmen from the Mexican Employers Association (Coparmex) with whom he met yesterday in Mexico City, expressed interest in attending the Belize Investment Summit to be held on November 10 and 11, 2021. He said that the Belize Investment Summit was discussed in depth with Coparmex.

“Once more, the business community expressed great interest to attend the Investment Summit and were interested in investing in various sectors and were also interested in exploring joint ventures with Belizean companies,” said the Prime Minister

The Summit is being led by the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance, Investment, and Economic Development under the theme: “Belize is Open for Business”.

The Belize Summit website says the event is “a call to both local and international investors for identifying opportunities and for the government to showcase Belize’s readiness to support global investment through vastly improved service delivery.”

“Our strategic location, bountiful natural terrestrial, mineral, and marine resources, a young vibrant population, and an investor-friendly government enable an abundance of opportunities that make us uniquely attractive as an investment destination,” he added on Facebook.

“The Government of Belize prioritizes economic development and is making the necessary legal, policy, and procedural changes, to create an environment that is conducive to doing business in Belize,” noted Prime Minister Briceño.

The Belize Investment Summit will be delivered in a hybrid event. Participants will be able to participate in it both virtually and in a face-to-face setting allowing them to network with investors, government officials, and other key economic agents.
