Vaccine mandate extends to court, police interaction; partially exempts health emergencies

By Aaron Humes: A statutory instrument confirming the scope of the new so-called “vaccine mandate” has been widely released.

Only children under 12 are fully exempted from the vaccine mandate. If you are seeking emergency medical attention, you may be admitted and subject to testing if you are ultimately hospitalized. If you are taken to a police station for detention, questioning or to be charged, you are likewise subject to testing by the Ministry of Health once in police custody.

You must be tested in order to participate in court as a juror, witness, party to court proceedings or in furtherance of compliance with an order of court (i.e., to pay a fine); to make a police report at the police station; and even to go to prison on remand or to serve a sentence.

Otherwise, it confirms that persons going to public medical institutions, government or statutory board offices shall (the imperative) prior to entering, present their proof of immunization and valid identification.

Workers inside said offices and institutions must also be proven to be immunized; if not, they must present their negative rapid test or PCR test every two weeks or their immunization card if they have taken their first dose and are awaiting the second.

The S.I. comes into effect on October 1. No further details have been issued about any changes to other regulations including the seven p.m. to four a.m. curfew.
