Active COVID-19 infections remain over 2,200 to close out the week

By BBN Staff: At the last COVID-19 daily report published for this week, the number of people who are infected with the virus remains above 2,200.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness reports that there are 2,233 Belizeans who have active COVID-19 infections, with another 298 suspected cases under investigation.

Hospitalizations due to the virus have gone back up to 46, 12 of those patients admitted to the intensive care unit.

The MOHW also reported that 178 new patients have recovered from their infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 18,325.

The national recovery rate was adjusted to 87.3.
