Conch season is now open

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: If you love conch now’s the time to get some as the conch season opened today, Friday, October 1.

So, you decide how you want to savour it: conch ceviche, conch soup, conch fritters, etc.

The season is open until June 30, 2022.

“As the conch fishery season 2021-2022 opened today, our marine reserve teams were readily prepared to conduct early morning enforcement patrols in their respective fishing areas to ensure fishers were in compliance with the fisheries regulations,” said the Caye Caulker Marine Reserve team said on Friday.

The regulators will make the conch shell is not shorter than seven inches.

Market clean fillet should exceed three ounces and fillet should exceed 2.75 ounces.
