By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Hurricane Sam has been out at sea for more than a week and is still churning winds of 150 miles per hour. It’s still a Category 4 storm and is expected to remain a major hurricane through at least Saturday night, said the United States Hurricane Center in its 3 pm advisory.

Though Sam’s center is expected to pass well east of Bermuda, the islands are under a tropical storm warning. According to the NHC, tropical-storm-force winds could affect the islands within 36 hours.

The NHC also said that swells from Sam are expected to reach the US East Coast and Atlantic Canada on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Victor is disorganized over the eastern tropical Atlantic. With 65 miles per hour winds, Victor is 745 miles west southwest of the Cabo Verdes Islands and is moving west-northwest.

Victor has slowed down and is now moving at 13 miles per hour. It is expected that by tomorrow it will turn to the northwest and continue in that trajectory during the weekend. However, the NHC said Victor is expected to gradually weaken during the next 72 hours.
