Ministry of Health says fishermen masks are strictly prohibited

Posted: Friday, October 1, 2021. 9:58 am CST.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness today said that as of Friday, October 1, 2021, the fishermen or ski masks are strictly prohibited.

The announcement comes after a number of robberies during which the thieves used fishermen’s masks.

On Tuesday, after one of its buses was robbed, Westline Bus Co. Ltd. said that effective that day the company would not allow passengers with non-authorized masks on buses.

“Westline Bus Co. Ltd. will not be allowing passengers to board our buses neither selling tickets to passengers wearing a ‘fisherman’s/ gaiter masks’ … specifically those that cover your face completely from the bottom of your eyes, down to your neck,” said Westline on a social media post on Tuesday.

“For everyone’s safety and the prevention of any more criminal-related activities, if you are wearing these types of face coveralls, you will not be picked up or permitted on board,” said Westline.
