By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “It was an honor to have participated in the closing ceremonies of México’s 200th Anniversary of Independence,” said Prime Minister John Briceño who participated in the ceremony held in the State of Morelos, named after a Mexican national hero – José María Morelos y Pavón.
Prime Minister Briceño and a Belize delegation are on a one-week State Visit to Mexico.
“My wife Rossana and I were accompanied by my counterpart and gracious host President of Mexico (Andrés Manuel López Obrador) and his wife, and Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by ““the other members of our Belize delegation – Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Hon. Jose Abelardo Mai, Hon. Christopher Coye and Distinguished Ambassadors Haisam Diab and Jaime E Briceno along with Chief Executive Officers Narda Garcia, and Her Excellency Ms. Amalia Mai as well as Executive Assistant in the Office of the Prime Minister Ms. Graciana Briceño.”
Prime Minister Briceño was to meet with President López Obrador on Friday morning.
The Belize delegation will return home on Saturday, October 2.
