Today is also World Smile Day. This day has been celebrated on the first Friday of October since 1999.

Today is also International Raccoon Appreciation Day. A young girl in California started the recognition since raccoons, considered pests, are not all that bad.

If you like coffee. I toast to you. Today is also International Coffee Day in honour of coffee farmers, roasters, coffee shop owners, and so on. Now, go ahead, drink a cup!

In the United States, today is National Manufacturing Day. It’s observed the first Friday in October as well. There it’s also National Hair Day today.

Of course, October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month during which people around the world show support for people affected by this deadly disease.
